Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Counseling can be beneficial to individuals who live in remote areas, struggle with social anxiety, or other difficulties getting into our office. Online sessions are held from the safety of your own home, your parked car, or other private location at a time that is convenient for you through our easy scheduling platform. However, you must be in the state of Missouri or Florida.
No one starts out with a plan to become addicted to a substance that will destroy their life. Most people have used substances as maladaptive coping for emotional or physical pain, or both. This triad (pain, trauma, and substances) is seen very often in treatment. We provide outpatient care for those in mild to moderate use & without withdrawal.
First responders, no matter the color of their badge, are under tremendous stress and may encounter vicarious and complex trauma that impacts them and their families in surprising ways. Veterans, active military, first responders - please let us know upon intake. Call for after hours appointments.

If you are under 18 years of age, you may not be legally able to consent to treatment, and consent must be obtained from a parent or guardian. Minors under the age of 18 must understand that parents' may have access to records based on law. In general, we ask parents that they agree to give up access to your records. If they agree, we will provide them only with general information about our work together, unless there is a high risk of harm to yourself or someone else. In this case, HATS Counseling will discuss their concerns about your safety with your parents. If possible, counseling staff will discuss the matter with you before giving your parents any information and do our best to handle any objections you may have about this conversation. I hereby agree to counseling/treatment/assessment/consultation at HATS Counseling. I have read the information contained in the above "Counseling Services: Rights, Privacy, Responsibilities and Consent to Treatment" and understand these provisions and policies. I understand I may address any questions regarding this consent with a counselor. I also understand that this consent will remain in effect until I am no longer a client, and that I have the right to later revoke my consent. If I do not sign this consent, or later revoke it, HATS Counseling may decline to provide services to me.
I am changing model in which to help people. I will no longer be working with individual clients. I am shifting to a community model. How is mental health a community issue? What does that mean? Interested in a group education presentation. Give me a call.
Please reach us at if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No. Although I specialize in substance use and trauma, the "self-development" is an umbrella for lots of other things from college adjustment, career choices, communication skills, and family issues to co-occurring disorders, insomnia, eating issues, anxiety or depression.
It depends. If it is a marriage preparation matter, assessment of a communication or emotional issue, or working with a substance use issue- maybe. Something much more difficult may need to be referred out to a marriage and family therapist (M&FT).
That's a hard one. Many counselors are moving away from taking insurances and moving to a private pay system. Including me. I will be phasing out many companies I had contracted with in the past.
Our caseload may be full. Deanna is limited to the number and type of telehealth clients she will be taking due to the new traveling/small group education model being adopted.
