Deanna's training & experience enables effective outpatient, individualized and private, psychological care for a number of mental health needs including anxiety & depression; specialty in substance misuse and trauma focused (EMDR and IFS). She completed a master's in psychology (MS) and a master's in counseling psychology (MSCP) followed by internship in a women's and children's residential substance use recovery facility. She stayed in this employment until moving to treatment court during the COVID scare of 2020. She opened HATS Counseling, LLC in May of 2021.
The private practice is opening to individual clients again after moving its location and is still offering public education presentations. Call if you are interested in more information.
Treatment focus is to help individuals & families explore, heal, and sustain functional lives & relationships. We achieve this by listening to your concerns and recognizing the multitudes -visible and invisible- of factors which present themselves in these sometimes-difficult discussions. We often find ourselves being pulled between many roles and expectations which have developed over many years and may land us in unknown or chaotic territory, wandering in many or no direction at all. Using eight domains of wellness, a map begins to appear. How do we cope and travel through it once we see it? By defining what thoughts, behaviors, and relationships may benefit from change. Client centered treatment plans map that journey.
We are on sacred ground as you share your story; maybe for the first time. Neurological changes & somatic expression of symptoms are normal reactions to abnormal situations... and can be improved with your willing participation and active work in understanding your own faculties/emotions. When mental health impacts your ability to participate at a societal level, it can be isolating, intimidating, and often damaging to your community which benefits from your participation. You are the expert of your experience. Perhaps sharing it with someone can help you organize and understand what the next chapter of your story could be.
